Dear Sir,

With the incriminating report of the House of Representatives Committee that investigated the fuel subsidy regime and the indictment of the Executive Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo in the same, we call on your Commission to investigate Alhaji Dankwambo’s role in the systematic looting of Nigeria’s resources through the fuel subsidy regime and take necessary action against him without further delay. The House of Representative that investigated the Fuel Subsidy Fraud has reported that over N2 trillion was expended as subsidy between 2009 and 2011. We are appealing to the Commission to take necessary action on this matter instead of the usual way Investigation Panel Reports are being swept under the carpet.

Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, Governor of Gombe State as the then Accountant General of the Federation in 2009-2010 has denied this allegation as usual but this disclaimer isn’t enough with the case at hand. Mere denial does not pack a punch. According to the report, Alhaji Dankwamno who happened to be “the particular Accountant General that served during the period 2009 was found to have made payments of equal installments of N999 million for the record of 128 times within 24 hours totaling N127.872 billion.
The confirmed payments from CBN records were made to beneficiaries yet to be disclosed by the OAGF or identified by the committee. We however, discovered that only 36 marketers were participants under the PSF scheme during this period. Even if there were 128 marketers, it was inconceivable that all would have imported the same quantity of products to warrant equal payments. The payment of N999 million 128 times within 24 hours between 12th and 13th January 2009 by the office of the Accountant General should be further investigated by relevant anti-corruption agencies”.

Looting has become a norm for members of the Peoples Democratic Party. This is a very sad situation because again it has shown that the government of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has continuously failed the good people of Nigeria. For several months now, cases of fraud have continued to linger in the news both locally and internationally. Trillions and Billions of Naira are being stolen on a daily basis while an average Nigerian cannot afford a healthy three square meal. We are tired of people looting the National treasury in the name of public service. It is more hurting that after all this hullaballoo, within time, the Culprits always get away with their theft, unpunished. Therefore, the Gombe State House of Assembly should commence moves to impeach Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo. In the meantime, he should resign as the Chief Executive Officer of Gombe State. He should not be in service where his character and credibility are in question. He should either step down to defend himself or after 7 days be ready to face the law Court.
The Petroleum Minister, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke should be relieved of her duties. Failure to do this within 7days of this publication will amount to court action.

All those in the Federal Ministry of Finance, office of the Director General of the Federation involved in the extra budgetary expenditure under the Petroleum Support Scheme from 2009 – 2011 should be sanctioned in accordance with Civil Service Rules and Code of Conduct Bureau. We are tired of the usual way things are done in this country. Justice must take its course. All Corruption and Impunity must be washed off our system. Serious actions should be taken, if not, our Country’s image will continue to be thrown in the mud. Lessons should be learnt from Ibori’s Saga. It is as a result of all these corrupt malpractices that Dr Jim Yong Kim was chosen over our own Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, as the new World Bank President. Precious time and money are being wasted setting up committees to investigate matters of this nature. We need answers and fast too. Nigerians will no longer fold their arms and allow the brazen act of corruption and blatant cover up of the same to go on unchallenged. All those named in the fuel subsidy scam should be investigated and brought to book.
Thanks in anticipation of your prompt action.
God bless Nigeria.
