Our aim in carrying out the global protest, seeking the
support of friends of Nigeria and countries around the globe is that, after
over 50 years of our independence, we are of the opinion that our country
Nigeria is still struggling to make its impact on both national and global
world, despite the amount we have realized from the sales of our natural
endowment which has run into billions of dollars.
• We are due for a greater Nigeria, where for at least our
citizens can enjoy the following amenities and be counted as human beings: the
provision of some needed basic amenities eg, good road infrastructures;
uninterrupted power supply, not the pollution caused by the diesel and petrol
generators; reconstruction of our domestic pipe-borne water supply; provision of
at least free medical check-up for our citizens; provisions of good and
affordable education; regulation of religious activities in Nigeria that is
religious tolerance; and provision of affordable housing by the government.
• ECONOMICAL: Put an end to the cankerworm of corruption in
Nigeria, that is corruption should be a thing of the past; an independent,
unbiased and accountable EFCC handled by professionals; development of economic
policies targeted to help the poor - poverty eradication steps and moving
towards a sustainable development; economic diversification; development and
investing in manufacturing of Nigerian products; transparency; accountability
and a good and sound security for the nation.
• POLITICAL: Good governance, which is a compact of
corruption eradication and over-inflation of contracts; continuous political
stability in the country; the government must put an end to kidnappings and
political assassinations; continuation of the policy of the rule of law; The
police and all other armed services to respect and protect the citizens;
consolidating our democracy. All political leaders’ aims should focus on
serving the people and not enslaving the people. This is not much to ask our
government whose priority is to Serve the people, develop the nation and invest
in our youths.
We have to cry out to the world, let the world know the
sufferings of the poor, how the corrupt leaders are selling our youth future
amongst themselves, the here and now is not as frightening as the future IF we
don't face the greedy so called leaders. They feel invisible, they feel
untouchable, and they have put themselves high as semi god. We have to act now
or faced being enslaved forever by our corrupt leaders. Nigerians at home need
us now. Enough is Enough. We propose a global peaceful protest called NIGERIAN
GLOBAL AWAKENING DAY PROTEST ON SATURDAY 23RD OF JUNE 2012 AT 1-6pm. Please see link of countries of Protest for all addresses and locations of Nigerian Global Awakening Protest around the Globe.
• {1} All Nigerians in the diaspora to protest in front of
Nigerian Embassy Worldwide on Saturday 23rd of June 2012 at exactly 1-6pm. This
is just a small sacrifice considering the sufferings our families, friends and
neighbours endure every single day in Nigeria. {2} the masses on Nigerian soil
to protest in front of the each State's TV and radio stations from 1-6pm. {3}
both Nigerians at home and in Diaspora would chant in the same voice,
"Nigerians say No to corrupt leaders.". Please hold the corrupt
Octopus logo high, as it contains our message. More protest locations will be
posted in due course. This rally is STRICTLY NON-VIOLENT.
Please support us, support Nigeria in our quest to eliminate
corruption in Nigeria. May God bless us all and may God continue to bless
Nigeria.
