EVIDENCE OF NEGLECT AND CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA.

Evidence of neglect/corruption (to be continued)

1) One barrel of Crude oil = 42gallons or
159 litres

... 2) Our Refineries (i.e 4) Installed
(combined) capacity = 445,000
... ... barrels per day

3) Actual refineries capacity due to
ageing equipment = 30% i.e. 133,500
barrels per day
.
4) . . 133,500 barrels = 21.2 million litres

5) Local required consumption (F.O.S) =
12millions litres

6) It means that even our MORIBOND
refineries can actually meet our local
consumption need of petroleum.

7) The cost structure of crude oil (i.e.
Qua Iboe Crude Oil) production;
- Findings / development - $3.5
- Production cost - $1.5
- Refining Cost - $12.6
- Pipeline/transportation - $1.5
- Distr/bridging fund Margin -$15.69

8) True cost of one litre of petroleum
anywhere in Nigeria;
- Total sum cost = $34.8
- 1ltr cost = $34.8/159 litres = $0.219
- Naira equiv. 0.219xN160= N35.02k
- Add Tax N5 + N35.02 = N40.02

9) Let FGN refute the above composition
and if not, they should tell us how
they came about N65/litre.

10) Locally refined products cannot be
sold at International price.

11) We really do not need FGN SUBSIDY
as there was NONE in the first place.

12) What is LACKING, is the WILL to
enforce LAW ON CORRUPTION.

We still stand a chance as a COUNTRY.

Analysis done by Professor Tam David West, former Petroleum Minister.

In India, a legislator earns 16,000 rupee or ($400); that is 60,000 Naira monthly salaries. Yet the GDP of India is 1,296,085 million Dollars while that of Nigeria is 168,994 million Dollars (World Bank 2009). Each of the 360 members of the House of Representatives takes home a minimum of N27.2 million every quarter but they are demanding for a raise that will increase their quarterly take-home to...... N42 million. However, this looting is not limited to the National Lawmakers. Surveys of salaries and benefits of public office holders from the Baltic to the Bahamas, the Americas and the Far East and all over the world shows that Ministers and Federal Legislators in Nigeria are the highest paid in the world, despite the country being among the poorest in terms of per capita income, security, social provision and living standards.

On the other hand, Nigerian workers are one of the lowest paid in the world, even at =N=18,000/month

The Nigerian Minister earns more than his American, British or German counterpart, and of course enjoys pecks of office those ones cannot even dare dream of. - THE GUARDIAN.

Ask yourself why Nigerian Gov did not cut their salaries and perks as part of the cost cutting measures? Why are these men/women of no conscience targeting the poor???

Dear Members, this is one of the reason why we are protesting. Also, bear in mind that we support and encourage citizens to exercise their rights to join and proactively take part in PEACEFUL PROTEST THAT WILL BRING ABOUT POSITIVE CHANGES TO OUR MOTHERLAND – NIGERIA, AND CARE FOR ALL CITIZENS - NIGERIANS. The more peaceful protest, the more we have the chance to penetrate into the mind and conscience of our government so that they can start thinking about us Nigerians, and serving the citizens as opposed to enriching themselves. However, NIGERIAN GLOBAL AWAKENING method is a proactive physical approach to peaceful protesting which is aimed, to involve Nigerians worldwide.

Nigerians both home and abroad also want their country back from the hands of few individuals who feels that the country is their inheritance. Organizing a global protest involves good structure, systematic strategies/planning and enhanced communications in order for it to be effective. Please see the links of countries and locations of protest around the Globe. Consider volunteering to organise and represent Nigerians in the part of the world that you are based.

We are asking members to spread the news of our protest to their friends, families and collegues around the world so that all Nigerians residing in all areas of the Globe will be aware. Spreading the news of the group is a contribution that is Patriotic. Please read our aims, countries of protest and consider to volunteer and get our citizens worldwide to be involved in the Protest. We can use the power of facebook, Twit, Blogs, email, phone, fax, face to face etc to network.
